Product Description

Siwin-M312 is a silane-terminated polyether with a main chain of PPO (polypropylene oxide) and endcapped by a trimethoxysilyl group. When exposed to moisture with a catalyst such as amine or Tin, it hydrolyzes to release methanol and forms a stable siloxane network. This clear liquid polymer is highly reactive and is commonly used in sealants and adhesives. 

Siwin-M312 has excellent adhesion, weather resistance, and environmental protection properties. It is important to store and handle it in a moisture-free environment as it can react with water or absorb moisture from the air. The dosage of Siwin-M312 can be adjusted in formulation design and it can be mixed with various fillers such as nano calcium carbonate, fumed silica, and aluminum hydroxide.

To prevent premature curing, it is necessary to remove water from fillers, with Siwin-V31 commonly used as a water scavenger. Plasticizers like phthalates and low molecular weight polyethers are often used, and additional additives such as tackifiers, antioxidants, and light stabilizers can be mixed for enhanced performance.

Product Application

Used as a reactive binder for sealants and adhesives, potting compounds and coatings. Curing takes places at ambient temperature in the presence of both moisture and catalyst.

Depending on the formulation, either prepared as one part or two-part systems, shows good adhesion to a wide variety of substrates even without pretreatment.

The low glass transition temperature allows stable mechanical properties over a wide temperature range.
