They are utilized in the modification or copolymerization of chloro-resins such as PVC, as well as in the surface treatment of glass fibers and reinforced plastic laminates. This treatment enhances their mechanical strength and resistance to heat and moisture. When vinyl silane coupling agents with unsaturated groups and active chloride ions come into contact with water, they undergo fierce hydrolysis and transform into silicon alcohol.
