Vinyltri(2-methoxyethoxy)silane is a coupling agent with vinyl functionality that enhances adhesion between unsaturated, polyester-type resins or crosslinked polyethylene resins or elastomers and inorganic substrates, such as fiberglass.
 

Application

Vinyl silane serves as a coupling agent, adhesion promoter, and crosslinking agent in various applications. It is commonly used in sulfur and peroxide cured rubber, polyester, polyolefins, styrenics, and acrylics. Additionally, vinyl silane can be copolymerized with ethylene to facilitate moisture-induced coupling of polyethylene, as well as grafted onto polyethylene for the same purpose. It is also utilized for surface treatment of mineral fillers in plastics.
