Siwin-P2OH is a very useful intermediate for the synthesis of organic silicon materials. It can be used to synthesize octa-phenylcyclotetrasiloxane. can produce silicone resin or inorganic - organic silicone polymer by condensation reaction,giving these materials good excellent mechanical and thermal properties and a variety of special optical properties. Some studies have shown that the birefringent index of waveguide can be reduced by sol-gel polymer synthesized from diphenylsilanediol. Siwin-P2OH is an early used surface modifier of white carbon black, which is characterized by high reaction temperature, long reaction time and selectivity of the surface active hydroxyl group.

Siwin-P2OH is a versatile agent that can be utilized in various applications. It can effectively control the structure of silicone rubber, preventing structuralization and enhancing processing performance.
