Phenyl functional silane is a beneficial compound that can enhance the thermal stability of silanes. It serves as an intermediate for silanes and siloxanes, and can be used to treat hydrophobic surfaces. Additionally, it can be added as a hydrophobic additive to other silane coupling agents.
Siwin-P31 is specifically designed to modify the surface of inorganic fillers like wollastonite and aluminum trihydroxide. By making these fillers more hydrophobic, Siwin-P31 improves their dispersibility in mineral-filled polymers. This is particularly advantageous for polymers that undergo processing at high temperatures. Furthermore, Siwin-P31 reduces the viscosity of polymer melts in various sol-gel applications. During the pre-hydrolysis process, Siwin-P31 undergoes partial hydrolysis to form a pre-product. This pre-product can then be further crosslinked through temperature exposure. Often, this pre-hydrolysis is carried out in conjunction with alkyl silanes (such as Siwin-932), other organofunctional silanes (e.g. Siwin-E560), silicic acid esters, or even an aqueous silica sol. |
